Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet will be presented on the lawn of the Morgan-Manning House, 151 Main Street, Brockport at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29 by Shake on the Lake.
Free and open to the general public, there are no tickets needed. Seating is provided, but bring your own lawn chair, if desired.
In case of rain, the production will be moved inside to the Carriage House at the back lot of the Morgan-Manning House. Beverage and refreshments will be available.
Shake on the Lake is a professional theatre troupe/live theatre festival located in Silver Lake, New York. It was founded in 2012, as the first live outdoor theater festival in Wyoming County.
The troupe celebrates its sixth season by producing its first tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. This year’s tour is the largest to date and takes the company to eight counties – Wyoming, Livingston, Genesee, Orleans, Erie, Niagara, Monroe, and Cattaraugus.
The mission of Shake of the Lake is to entertain, engage, and enrich the community by creating professional theatre productions in a natural outdoor setting. Shake on the Lake seeks to serve the community through educational outreach, artistic accessibility, and eco-friendly, green business practices to preserve the natural environment surrounding the festival.
The Brockport Community Concert Band and Summer Community Choir are seeking musicians to perform in the annual Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration held at the Morgan Manning House on Tuesday, July 4.
Community members are invited to join the band, choir or both. Instruments are available to players who need one.
The band is comprised of area residents of all ages who have band instrument experience. The repertoire for the concert includes patriotic music, movie music, Disney and Broadway tunes.
Rehearsals will be held Sunday and Monday, July 2 and 3, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Brockport High School Band Room and the performance will be at 11 a.m. on July 4.

The Summer Community Choir is also made up of residents of all ages and Brockport High School Choir members. Rehearsals will be held Sunday and Monday, July 2 and 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Brockport High School Choir Room and the warm-up will be held at 9:45 a.m. on July 4. The performance begins at 10:15 a.m.
