On Sunday, July 16 at 11:30 a.m. Brockport High School graduate Katie DeTar's national public television series Fringe Benefits kicks off it's second season on WXXI TV Create (cable channel 1276, DT 21.3).
For the first episode of the new season, Katie introduces viewers to Rochester (where she calls home).
Fringe Benefits is a 30 minute public television series that highlights destination gems in and around American cities.
In each episode Katie presents a new city and region.
In addition to Rochester, this season she'll take viewers to Indianapolis, West Virginia, Cleveland, Springfield and Western Massachusetts. There will also be a "Fringe Favorites" episode with clips from Hartford, Buffalo, Cleveland and Kentucky that did not fit in the other episodes.
Fringe Benefits airs as far away as Alaska and also in California, Chicago, the Midwest, parts of New England, many areas of New York State, Florida, Kentucky, the Carolinas and more.
About 40% of PBS stations now air Fringe Benefits, with more to add the series to their schedules this summer and fall.
