On August 12, 2017 the Brockport High School class of 1972 held their 45th year reunion at the Brockport Elk's Club on Sweden Walker Road.
The evening started with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for deceased classmates and a hearty "Thank you" for all classmates who served in the military.
Classmate and reunion chairperson Ellen Leisten Sorce received the Community Service Award for her hard work organizing the reunion and for her many charitable efforts in the greater Rochester area.
The award took the form of a large poster with 25 multi-colored " E's " for "Effort" (like the report cards members of the Class of 1972 grew up with).
"Ellen got 25 'E's' for her superb effort over the past several years and a huge round of applause when her name was revealed as the recipient," said Neal P. Kemp, class president.
Additional highlights of the evening included congratulations to two pairs of newlyweds: Brenda Bigley and her husband Vance ( Vestal ) and Gregg Rosenberg and his bride Marcia. Also, the class formally "adopted" Fred Klauser ( husband of classmate Tina Coapman Klauser ) due to his attendance at so many reunions.
