Brockport Central School District Board of Education President Lisa Ireland was elected vice president of the Monroe County School Boards Association at the association’s annual dinner on May 24.
Ireland will serve a three year term; vice president for one year, president for one year and past president for the third year. She will work collaboratively with MCSBA Executive Director Sherry Johnson, President Mike Suffoletto (Webster), Treasurer John Abbott (Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES) and Past President John Piper (Penfield) to help guide the direction of the organization.
Ireland was appointed to the Brockport Central School District Board of Education in 2012 and subsequently elected in 2013. She was elected president in 2014, a role in which she continues to serve. She was previously involved with the Monroe County School Boards Association as chair of the Legislative Committee, co-chair of Information Exchange and member of the Steering, Board Presidents and Executive Committees.
The Monroe County School Boards Association is a non-profit organization made up of 21 school districts in upstate New York. The MCSBA exists to “support association members as they strive to provide excellence in education for all students.”
